Norway exports over US$1 billion worth of salmon in November 2022

Norway exported 125,234 tonnes of salmon worth NOK 10.1 billion (~US$ 1 billion; NOK 1 = US$0.10) in November 2022, a new record, with the value of exports up NOK 2.2 billion ~(US$221 million) or 28% higher compared to November 2021, Fish Information & Services reported.
The biggest markets for Norwegian salmon were the US, Poland, and France in November. The US had the biggest increase in value, at NOK 431 million (~US$43 million) or 87% higher compared to October 2022.
6,393 tonnes of salmon were exported to the USA, a 30% increase over the same month last year.
Paul T Aandahl, a seafood analyst for the Norwegian Seafood Council, said there is still a significant increase in demand in the US following the pandemic, but there is also a decrease in supply from a number of competitors. A strong US dollar against the Euro also helps.
As for Norwegian trout, 4,897 tonnes were shipped in November worth NOK 454 million (~US$45 million). Export value increased NOK 32 million (~US$3.2 million), or 7% compared to November 2021. Export volume decreased 25%.
The biggest markets for Norwegian trout are the US, Thailand, and Lithuania.
