Brazil's chicken production to hit 15.86 million tonnes next year

Conab, Brazil's National Supply Agenc, has forecast that chicken production in the country will reach a new record of 15.86 million tonnes in 2026.
This represents almost half of the total meat production, which is estimated at 32.6 million tonnes in 2026 (0.4% higher than expected in 2025), according to the agency's data.
Chicken production forecast for 2025 is 15.5 million tonnes. Export shipments in 2025 are estimated at 5.2 million tonnes, slightly higher than the 2024 estimate of 5.15 million tonnes. Bird flu cases reported in Rio Grande do Sul in May affected export shipments, but only slightly. For example, China, the largest importer of chicken meat, recently announced the resumption of purchases from Brazil, according to Conab.
Pork production in Brazil could reach 5.63 million tonnes by 2025. Exports will continue to grow, despite slowing demand from China: shipments are expected to reach 1.48 million tonnes. Pork export estimates for 2026 are 5.88 million tonnes and 1.6 million tonnes, respectively.
Beef production in Brazil in 2025 is estimated at 11.38 million tonnes, slightly higher than in 2024. Exports remain high: a record 4.21 million tonnes are expected to be shipped by the end of 2025. This volume could be achieved even in the face of increased tariffs (40%) imposed by the US government on beef, coffee, cocoa, and fruit from Brazil, which were later withdrawn.
More than half of Brazilian beef (53.7%) is imported by China, the report added.
