Alltech launches Georgia facility
Animal health company Alltech officially opened its new state-of-the-art office and quality assurance laboratory in Thomasville, Georgia.
Alltech, along with members of the Georgia Department of Labor, the Chamber of Commerce, Wentworth Building Corporation, and Florida A&M University, hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony at its 7-acre office site located on the Southwest edge of Thomasville.
Dr. Pearse Lyons, company president, said the company is looking forward to become part of the local economy.
The facility includes quality assurance laboratory, state-of-the-art offices and distribution warehousing facilities.
As one of 19 offices in North America, Alltech Georgia will support the agriculture industry of Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi, with the capacity to support 3 billion broilers, 283,000 dairy cows, 851,000 hogs and 2.9 million beef cattle.
Since 1980, Alltech's presence has grown with offices and distributors in 113 countries and 1,800 employees around the world.
