Brazil's soybean production expected to hit 177.2 million tonnes in 2025/26

Brazil's soybean production in MY 2025/26 is expected to reach 177.2 million tonnes, consulting firm StoneX reported on December 1, lowering its forecast by 0.9% compared to its November forecast.

The forecast revision reflects lower yields in the states of Mato Grosso and Goiás, both major producers, despite a slight expansion in planted area, StoneX said.

"Irregular rainfall, particularly in regions that account for a significant share of Brazil's production, continues to impact production potential," the company added in a statement.

Despite the forecast reduction, the harvest remains a record.

StoneX reported that the country's total corn harvest is forecast to reach 134.4 million tonnes in 2025/26, lowering its estimate by 0.6%.

The second-crop corn forecast is lowered 1.1% to 105.8 million tonnes as delays in the soybean planting cycle could impact the start of planting.
