Brazil's soy exports fell to 185,800 tonnes in November compared with 723,600 tonnes in November 2008, the Foreign Trade Ministry said Tuesday (December 1).
The November 2009 exports also fell from 722,700 tonnes exported last month, the ministry said.
Brazil is the world's second-largest soy exporter, behind the US, and soy is one of the biggest revenue drivers for Brazil.
The soy trade brought in US$452.8 million to Brazil in November, compared with US$430.1 million in November 2008.
Exports are slow in November as most of the export trade focuses on the US crop, while Brazil is in the inter-harvest period.
Brazil's soy producers are finalising the planting of their new soy.
Brazil in November also shipped 745,000 tonnes of soymeal, a soy derivative used in animal feed and other food products, compared with 843,600 tonnes in October and one million tonnes in November 2008.
