Arla executive board member appointed to European Dairy Association board

Peter Giortz Carlsen, executive vice president of Arla Foods' Europe business zone and member of its executive board, has joined the board of the European Dairy Association, representing the Danish dairy industry.

Carlsen assumed his position on November 20 at a crucial time for the European dairy industry, not least as it is a key stakeholder in the delivery of the European Union's "Farm to Fork" strategy, which is at the heart of the European Green Deal.

On his appointment, Carlsen said: "I am delighted to be joining the board and engaging in pivotal discussions and decision-making that will influence the sustainable development of the European dairy industry both now and in the long term.

"As Arla is a cooperative owned by more than 9,700 European dairy farmers, 2,400 of whom are based in Denmark, I am honoured to be taking a role in ensuring a sustainable and positive future for the entire industry."
