H5N8 bird flu reported in Norway

Norway's Food Safety Authority (FSA) confirmed its first case of H5N8 bird flu south of the country, Reuters reported.

The FSA said all poultry livestock in southern Norway must be kept indoors after the highly pathogenic H5N8 bird flu strain was detected in a wild short-billed goose.

Europe's poultry industry is on high alert after the region reported several cases of bird flu in recent weeks, believed to be spread by wild birds.
