Ukraine's October meat production goes up 7.2%
Ukraine's meat production in live weight rose by 7.2% or 16,900 tonnes in October to 250,400 tonnes, compared with September, said the State Statistics Committee.
Production of meat by private farms went up by 16.8% or by 17,500 tonnes in October, compared with September, to 121,500 tonnes. Specialised farms trimmed meat production by 0.5% or 600 tonnes to 128,900 tonnes.
In October 2010, meat production grew by 7.5% or 17,400 tonnes, compared with October 2009.
In January to October 2010, meat production went up by 6.5% or 137,900 tonnes to 2,259,300 tonnes compared with the same period last year.
Earlier in September, the production of meat in live weight grew by 14.2% or 29,000 tonnes to 233,500 tonnes, compared with August.
In 2009, meat production rose by 0.2% or 5,200 tonnes to 2,728,400 tonnes, compared with 2008 (according to the refined data, meat production in 2008 made up 2,723,200 tonnes).
