EU approves LDC Group's acquisition of Arrive Group
The European Competition Authority has approved French poultry meat and feed producer LDC Group to takeover Arrive Group.
The approval stipulates two conditions - the sales of activities tied to the Saint-Sever brand owned by Arrive, and commitments on the market for poultry products.
While the acquisition does not raise any competition in the animal feed sector, it will greatly enhance the presence of the LDC Group at various stages of production and marketing of poultry meat and poultry products, said the European Competition Authority.
LDC will sell the assets of Farmers Group Landais, and therefore the brand Saint-Sever, so as to reduce the accumulation of market share in regard to collecting poultry for slaughter in the Southwest, and marketing of the products to local butchers and supermarkets.
