Canada stops checking for antibiotic residue in Vietnamese seafood
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) would no longer check for chloramphenicol residue in seafood imports from Vietnam. The inspections were imposed in 2003.
CFIA and Vietnam have been working closely to control antibiotic residues in seafood exports to Canada, Nguyen Tu Cuong, director of Vietnam's National Fisheries Quality Assurance and Veterinary Directorate, said.
