Increases in value and volume for Santa Catarina, Brazil meat exports

 

 

 

Santa Catarina, Brazil, exported 139.8 thousand tonnes of meat in October, 7.2% more than the same period in 2021.

 

From January to October 2022, the state shipped 1.41 million tonnes of meat, generating revenues that exceed US$3.1 billion (an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period last year). This data was shared by the Ministry of Economy and analysed by the Centre for Socioeconomics and Agricultural Planning (Epagri/Cepa).

 

In that same period, Santa Catarina exported 497,900 tonnes of pork, with a financial result of US$1.1 billion. The state represents the 55% of Brazilian shipments and is the largest pork producer in the country.

 

In August, Santa Catarina reached a historical record in shipments with 62.2 thousand tonnes shipped in a single month, 40% more than the same period in 2021.
