In Vietnam's Ca Mau province, the price of black tiger shrimp in mid-November 2013 sized 20 pieces per kilogramme (kg) was VND290,000/kg (US$14), up VND10,000/kg (US$0.47) over the previous week.
Shrimp with size 30 pieces/kg was priced at VND230,000/kg (US$11), up VND5,000/kg (US$0.24) and VND205,000/kg (US$9.64) for size of 40 pieces, up VND10,000/kg (US$0.47).
The price of white-leg shrimp was on the upward trend in all sizes. The price of shrimp count 100 pieces/kg was up VND10,000 (US$0.47) to VND125,000/kg (US$5.88). VND142,000/kg (US$6.67) was for size 90 pieces/kg, up VND9,000 (US$0.42), while for size 80 pieces/kg it was VND159,000/kg (US$7.47), up VND15,000 (US$0.70); For size 70 pieces/kg it was VND165,000/kg (US$7.75) up VND11,000 (US$0.52) and VND172,000/kg (US$8.08) for size 60 pieces, up VND14,000 (US$0.66).
In Long An province, during this time, the price of shrimp in all varieties has soared. The price of white-leg shrimp sized 60-70 pieces/kg increased by VND10,000–15,000 (US$0.47-0.70) to VND150,000–165,000/kg (US$7.05-7.75). Black tiger shrimp count 40-50 pieces/kg was priced at VND250,000–260,000/kg (US$11.75-12.22), up VND10,000–20,000 (US$0.47-0.95).
