Vietnam buys 12,000-tonne Indian corn at US$282/tonne
Vietnam has bought an Indian corn cargo of 12,000 tonnes worth US$282/tonne, basis cost and freight for January shipment to Ho Chi Minh City, trading executives said Friday (Nov 26).
"Transactions in Indian corn have slowed down in past few days because earlier contracted shipments are getting delayed (due to rains) but some sales are still taking place," said a trading executive with a global trading company.
He said the bulk of India's corn sales from the new crop have so far taken place for December 15 – January 15 shipment and traders are hoping that these deliveries won't be delayed once rains stop.
