Fibrowatt to launch poultry litter-powered plant in Montgomery
Fibrowatt currently eyes on Montgomery county as a possible location for the next biomass-fueled power plant.
Fibrowatt invited Montgomery residents to attend a community Open House on Wednesday, November 28, where it discussed more about the company and the technology.
The emergence of this renewable technology has been in a rapid rise over the last few months and has been cited by the government for its environmental rewards.
Fibrowatt announced plans in building as many as three power plants in North Carolina and has been contemplating on a site in Montgomery County.
As part of the company's site selection process, Fibrowatt evaluates sites offered by communities across the state, including Montgomery, Moore and Stanly County in central North Carolina.
Fibrowatt is a pioneer renewable energy using poultry litter and other biomass materials.
The company just opened a new plant in Benson, Minnesota - the first commercial power plant in the nation fueled primarily with poultry litter. The plant converts the litter into electricity using a proven process developed in the UK more than a decade ago.
