US Urges Sri Lanka to Lift Poultry Ban
The United States has asked the Sri Lankan government to lift a ban on exports of US poultry products to the island nation.
The US embassy in Sri Lanka has dismissed local industry allegations that chicken imports from the US are dangerous amid a recent outbreak of avian flu in southern Texas.
The embassy added that US federal regulations ensure exports of poultry products conform to stringent levels of quality and safety.
