Minh Phu Seafood's net profit exceeds expectations

Vietnam's top shrimp exporter, Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (MPC) posed a net profit of VND321.47 billion (US$16.48 million) in the first ten months of this year, surpassing 21.54% of its full-year plan.

Its revenues were VND3.746 trillion (US$192 million) between January and October, exceeding 7.04% of the year's plan, MPC said in a financial report.

During the period, the company exported 18,006 tonnes of shrimp and raked in turnover of US$91.56 million.

In 2010, the Hochiminh Stock Exchange-listed firm targets export revenues of US80 million from selling 18,000 tonnes of shrimp, and net profit of VND264 billion (US$13.5 million) on net revenues of VND3.5 trillion (US$179.5 million).
