Vietnamese ambassador seeks to boost agriculture trade with Argentina

Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Ngo Minh Nguyet has committed to assisting Argentine businesses in expanding trade ties with Vietnam, focusing on the export of key Argentine products, including beef, soybeans, and corn to strengthen the growing partnership between the two countries.

During her visit to Reconquista city in Santa Fe province in November, Ambassador Nguyet met with Mayor Amadeo Enrique Vallejos for a working session. She outlined the robust relationship between Vietnam and Argentina, noting that Vietnam has become Argentina's sixth-largest trade partner. She highlighted significant opportunities for further collaboration, particularly in aquaculture.

Mayor Vallejos emphasised Reconquista's strategy to expand its reach in global markets, identifying Vietnam as a key destination. He detailed the city's established livestock industry, which encompasses cattle, swine, and poultry breeding, alongside the cultivation of soybeans, corn, sorghum, cotton, sunflower, and citrus trees. Vallejos expressed a keen interest in learning from Vietnam's successful aquaculture practices and exploring avenues for cooperation.

In a gesture symbolising the city's commitment to fostering international partnerships, Mayor Vallejos declared Ambassador Nguyet an Honorary Guest of Reconquista and presented her with the Key to the City.

Ambassador Nguyet also held discussions with Mayor Paura Mitre of Vera city, Hector Zat, President of Guadalupe Norte district, and Gerardo Castillo, President of La Sarita district.

As part of her visit, the Vietnamese diplomat toured several livestock facilities and prominent beef and pork processing companies in Reconquista, including Friar and Tutto Porkys.
