Automated feed mill starts operation in Vietnam's Mekong Delta

Vietnam's Mekong Delta had witnessed its first automated feed mill start operation at the Nhut Chanh Industrial Zone in Ben Luc district, Long An province, on November 24, Nhan Dan Online reported.

Backed by a US$35 million investment, the fully-automated facility, called Viet Thang Long An Feed Mill, occupies 6.8 hectares of land, and is capable of producing 600,000 tonnes of animal feed per year. It requires only six workers who operate on 8-hour shifts to produce 800 tonnes of feed.

Buhler provided the technology that drives the plant's operations. In addition, the feed mill meets European standards on food safety and other requirements on cross-contamination prevention and trace of origin.

With the rising demand for animal feed, the opening of the plant is good news, said Tran Van Can, the chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee. The feed mill, with its application of modern technology, will help Vietnam's livestock industry enter the international market, he added.
