Ukraine bans poultry from Saudi Arabia
Ukraine State Department of Veterinary Medicine banned the import of live birds and poultry products from Saudi Arabia due to bird flu outbreak.
The ban, effective from November 22, 2007, was imposed right after the International Epizootic Bureau confirmed an outbreak in the area.
Meanwhile, imports of other types of livestock and meat from Saudi would be monitored by Ukraine's veterinary authorities.
The department also prohibited imports of meat products and live animals from Cyprus since November 22 due to the detection of foot-and-mouth disease.
Another ban on imports of live birds and poultry products from Canada was imposed since October 29 because of the bird flu outbreak.
