China Beef Cattle Exports to Korea For 1st Time in November

China's Dandong Customs Office reported on November 24 that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) imported beef cattle from China for the first time in November.

Some 439 head of cattle were transported to the DPRK on November 9 via Dandong, a Northeast China city that faces the DPRK across the Yalu River.

A company in Jilin Province raised the cattle, and the importer was a breeding farm in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, the customs said.

Unlike previous imports by the DPRK, which were mainly for the purpose of breeding, this time, the cattle will be used for their meat.
