China Corn Export To Korea Surge 205% Year On Year

 

China's Dandong Customs Office Monday reported a sharp increase in grain exports to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the first 10 months of this year.

 

Between January and October, 66,255 tons of grains were exported to Korea via Dandong on the border between the two countries, an increase of 52.29% from the same period last year.

 

Grains that are easily stored, such as wheat, rice and corn, had a big rise among the exports. Corn export to the DPRK jumped by 205.2% year on year to 13,673 tons in the 10 months, accounting for 51.45% of the total grain exports.

 

Wheat and flour exports grew 49.54% to 31,927 tons and rice export rose 40.64% to 17,409 tons.
