Japan Seeking 190,000 MT Barley, 30,000 MT Wheat For Feed
Japan's Food Department will seek 190,000 metric tons of barley and 30,000 tons of wheat for feed use in a tender closing Wednesday, a department official said Tuesday.
The shipment period will be up to the end of February 2004, he said.
The tender is the last of five that the department, which is under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, is holding under the simultaneous buy-and-sell, or SBS, system for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2004.
Japan buys grains through regular tenders and through the SBS system. The latter allows end users to state the origin and quality of the grains they want.
