New managing director appointed for Cargill Aqua Nutrition's North Sea & Canada business

Cargill has appointed chief financial officer Tarjei Eide as the head of Cargill Aqua Nutrition's (CQN) North Sea & Canada business, effective January 1, 2024.

Eide replaces his predecessor, Fredrik Witte, who will leave Cargill after more than nine years with the business. The former joined Cargill in 2018 as the finance lead for CQN North Sea & Canada after 10 years in management consulting. He holds a master's degree in finance from NHH Norwegian School of Economics.

Eide has been part of the North Sea & Canada business leadership team since joining Cargill and has helped develop strategies for Cargill both in Europe and globally. He has been central in supporting several of Cargill's largest fish farming customers. He is also a board member of EWOS Innovation AS in Dirdal.

In his new role, Eide will be managing director, responsible for CQN North Sea & Canada's business. He will join the CQN Global Leadership Team and report to Helene Ziv-Douki, CQN's president and global group leader.

Cargill's North Sea & Canada Business, within the Global Cargill Aqua Nutrition group, is a market leader in feed production for salmonoids in Norway, delivering high quality feeds to customers from three plants along the Norwegian coast, one plant in Westfield, Scotland, the United Kingdom, as well as a plant in British Columbia, Canada.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to support Cargill's North Sea and Canada aqua customers," said Eide, "As an industry, we face many challenges we must solve in the years to come. I am very proud of all the good work we have done over the past few years and look forward to building on a good foundation. In the future, we will become even better – which is expected by both customers and consumers. I am confident that we have what it takes to succeed."

"I am delighted that Tarjei accepted this opportunity and look forward to continuing to work with him and the rest of the team in the North Sea and Canada," said Ziv-Douki. "Through more than eight years, Fredrik Witte has built a strong organisation that delivers results and solid growth. We are grateful for Fredrik's contribution to Cargill and wish him the best of luck in his next chapter. Tarjei is the planned and natural successor for Fredrik and I am strongly confident that he will lead the team to grow together with our customers at an exciting time."

Witte will remain in this position until the end of the calendar year when he transitions to a new role outside the aquaculture business.
