Mexico's pork in high demand and worth US$680 million
Mexico's pork has a high international demand worth US$680 million as the surplus in its agrifood trade balance between January and September 2020 reached US$9.7 billion - an annual increase of 38.4%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
During that period, agrifood exports reached US$29.32 billion, which represented a 3.9% increase, compared to the previous period.
In the agricultural sector alone, sales totaled US$13.86 billion, representing an annual increase of 5.33%, with a positive trade balance of US$4.68 billion, an increase of 35.2% compared to the same period in 2019.
It should be noted that the agri-food sector contributed 10% of Mexico's total exports between January and September of this year.
