Ukraine's October pig population down 0.04% to 8.1 million heads
 

 

As of November 1, 2012, Ukraine's October pig population dropped by 0.04% or 3,400 heads against September, to 8,085,300 heads.

 

According to the State Statistics Service's report, pig population decreased by 0.2% or 10,000 heads against September, to 4,443,900 heads in private farms, and rose by 0.2% or 6,600 heads to 3,641,400 heads in specialised farms.

 

Pig population increased by 1.6% or 123,700 heads against November 1, 2011.

 

Specifically, pig population rose by 4.1% or 142,200 heads in specialised farms, and fell by 0.4% or 18,500 heads in private farms.

 

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in September, pig population rose by 1.2% or 96,900 heads as against August, to 8,088,700 heads as of October 1, 2012.
