More than 2,000 ASF cases confirmed within Poland's wild boar population
Poland has seen 2,347 cases of African swine fever (ASF) among its wild boar population since the start of 2023, the country's Chief Veterinary Inspectorate reported this month.
Still, the epidemiological situation related to ASF in Poland has improved compared to 2018-2021. However, an alarming increase in the number of cases in wild boars has been observed recently, and the situation looks worse than in 2022.
More than 70 new cases have been confirmed in the past few weeks.
Outbreaks were primarily found in Lower Silesia, Lublin and West Pomeranian provinces, within the so-called ‘red zones'.
