Denmark's total pig numbers at 20-year low in Q4 2022

Denmark's total pig census has decreased continuously since the end of 2021, reaching a 20-year low in the fourth quarter of 2022.

The survey by Statistics Denmark revealed the country's total pig inventory stands at 11.9 million pigs, down 2% from the previous quarter and down nearly 10% from the same time last year.

The sow inventory is at 939,000 head, down 3% from the previous quarter and down nearly 9% from the same time last year.
