Market analysis
Demand for methionine was soft as feed producers held back purchases prudently. Hence, even though sellers attempted to stand firm, methionine market weakened in several regions as traders cut prices to promote sales.
In Europe, prices of China-produced methionine stayed in the range of EUR2.09-2.12/kg.
Market forecast
Cautious mood of feed millers will hamper the sales of methionine. Nonetheless, with imports costly and export demand robust due to a weak renminbi, methionine prices are projected to remain stable.
