China's Xiwang Sugar Holdings Ltd., one of the country's top corn sweetener producers, said on Tuesday, Nov 21 that it would apply for 2007 corn import quotas totalling 600,000 tonnes.

Sun Xinhu, head of business development at Xiwang, said though the company was unsure whether the government would allocate the desired quota but he expected to get a larger quota than this year's 100,000 tonnes.
