Prices of vitamin B2 in China generally firm on tight supplies

Prices of vitamin B2 in China remained firm in recent days as supplies generally remained tight.
In northern China, offer prices of locally produced vitamin B2 (80 percent content) were in the range of RMB160-162/kg, while transacted prices were between RMB158/kg and RMB160/kg.
In southern China, transacted prices of locally produced vitamin B2 (80 percent content) hovered at the level of RMB160/kg.
Transacted prices of locally produced vitamin B2 (96 percent content) were slightly above the level of RMB200/kg, up by RMB1-2/kg from the same period in October.
Meanwhile, offer prices of imported vitamin B2 in northern China were in the range of RMB165-167/kg, while transacted prices registered between RMB163/kg and RMB165/kg, up by about RMB1/kg from the same period in October.
Global market supplies of vitamin B2 were tight in recent days, especially for vitamin B2 (80 percent content) where demand generally outstripped supplies, causing its prices to edge higher. As of Nov 18, offer prices by some major Chinese producers of vitamin B2 to small- and medium-sized traders were close to the level of RMB160/kg. Analysts expected prices of vitamin B2 in China to remain firm in the near term.
