Domestic and Export Prices of China's Vitamin C Products Mostly Lower (November 19, 2004)

I     Price Summary

 

Prices of vitamin C in China continued to move lower in recent days. As at November 19, selling prices of locally produced vitamin C raw material (99%) in China hover at the RMB50/kg level, down by RMB5/kg compared with prices in previous week. With the approach of the winter season, the market demand for vitamin C in the country has been on the decline.

II    Exports of China's Vitamin C Raw Materials 
 
Current offer prices of China's locally produced vitamin C raw materials for exports to European and American markets fell by US$0.50/kg from previous week to US$5.00/kg, while offer prices for exports to Southeast Asia and Africa regions edged down byUS$0.20/kg to US$5.80/kg.     
 
Prices for delivery in February 2005 to European and American markets stay unchanged at US$5.3/kg, while offer prices for exports to Southeast Asia and Africa regions are reportedly at US$5.80/kg.
