Uruguay Beef Exports Grew 22% in Jan-Sep 2003
 

Uruguayan beef exports grew by 22% in volume and 32% in value in January- September of 2003, compared to the same period in 2002, according the National Meat Institute.

The country's meat industry increased its income by 28% in this period, attaining income worth US$365 million. The volume of beef exports to Canada, the US, the European Union, Israel, Algeria and the Russian Federation was 271,207 m tons.

The volume of lamb and mutton was 7,979 m tons.
