Brazil's October chicken exports up
Brazil's October chicken exports reached US$707.73 million, up 17% against the same period last year, the Brazilian Poultry Association, or Ubabef, said Thursday (Nov 17).
In volume, sales increased a slight 0.7% in the same comparison, to 335,730 tonnes.
This year through October, exports rose 21% in revenue, to US$6.743 billion, and advanced 1.5% in volume, to 3.233 million tonnes.
The Middle East was the main buyer of Brazilian chicken through October, with 1.178 million tonnes, followed by Asia (932,000 tonnes), EU (407,000 tonnes), and Africa (383,000 tonnes).
