Ukraine's Jan-Oct 2012 meat, milk production rise
In the first 10 months of 2012, Ukraine's meat and milk production increased compared with the same period in 2011.
"The production of meat in Ukraine (in live weight) in January-October 2012 grew by 2.2% compared to the same period in 2011, to 2.423 million tonnes, whereas milk production grew by 2.7% in the first 10 months of this year compared with the same period in 2011, to 9.89 million tonnes," the State Statistics Service reported.
In addition, egg production over this period rose by 1.7%, to 16.246 billion eggs.
In 2011, Ukraine increased meat production by 3.5% compared with 2010, to three million tonnes, egg production by 9.6%, to 18.7 billion eggs, and reduced milk production by 1.4%, to 11.1 million tonnes.
