Indian company first in the world to make transport of animal vaccines by drone possible

Indian Immunologicals Limited's (IIL) animal vaccine has become the world's first vaccine to be transported via drones.

The government of Arunachal Pradesh , along with IIL and a drone service provider, came together for the maiden flight of this development. The flight was undertaken from Roing to Paghlam. The initiative is expected to reach areas in remote, difficult terrains faster and help in providing critical vaccines on time for the protection of livestock from various diseases.

Dr. K. Anand Kumar, managing director of IIL, expressed hope for technological intervention in making vaccines available to remote locations in India. With this milestone, IIL has amply demonstrated the delivery of "medicines from the sky," he said.

Indian Immunologicals Limited, headquartered in Hyderabad, is one of the largest producers of vaccines in Asia.
