Between January and September 2024, Russian pork exports increased by 23% in volume and 27% in value compared to the same period of the previous year.

Since the beginning of the year, companies supplied foreign markets with about 200 thousand tonnes of pork worth about $430 million. About 50% of the exported pork is frozen, 23% is fresh and chilled pork, and 27% is offal.

The main export destination is Belarus, which is estimated to have increased its purchases by 14% to 65 thousand tonnes. It is the key market for fresh and chilled pork, with an almost 90% share.

Vietnam is the second destination, with a volume of 59 thousand tonnes (-16%), and China ranks third. Since the Chinese market opened for three Russian pork exporting companies at the end of February 2024, almost 30 thousand tonnes of meat and offal worth $78 million have been supplied to China.

In addition, Russian pork exports to Serbia and Hong Kong, China, almost doubled, and exports to Mongolia increased by 20%.
