Vion appoints COO for new business unit focusing on retail

European meat producer Vion has announced the appointment of Philippe Thomas as its chief operating officer of business unit retail.

Thomas will lead the new business unit focusing on retail and will be a member of Vion's executive committee.

Having over 17 years of management experience within Vion, Thomas joined the company in 2002.

During his career, he took up several management positions. In his last position, he was responsible for beef sales activities in Europe, as sales director for "Europe Industry & Retail Out of Home Markets."

As COO, Thomas will be responsible for all retail operations and sales in the Netherlands, Germany and worldwide.
