Turkey sees increases in chicken meat, red meat productions in September
Turkey saw a 7.1% increase in its chicken meat production, with the percentage pushing to an output close to 166,000 tonnes year-on-year in September this year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
In addition, the country's meat production rose by 30.5% to around 5,900 tonnes in the same month, compared to September 2017. The slaughtering of chickens and turkeys reached 94 million, increases of 7.4% and 30.7%, respectively, compared to September last year. Hen egg production jumped 1.1%, to 1.6 billion units.
As for Turkey's red meat product, it increased 0.4%, to 339,379 tonnes year-on-year in the third quarter of 2018, TurkStat said.
