Technical seminar in Ecuador seeks to help swine producers improve practices

More than 100 swine producers from Cotopaxi province, Ecuador, participated in a technical seminar organised by the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG).

The event was organised through the Cotopaxi District Directorate, with the support of various institutions and companies. It aimed to strengthen producers' knowledge and improve swine production practices.

The seminar addressed key issues such as good swine husbandry practices to ensure product quality and animal welfare, diagnosis, prevention, and the control of swine diseases, breeding management, and genetic improvement.

Participants received a certificate of participation attesting to their knowledge.

Pig farming in Ecuador plays a fundamental role in the national economy and food security. This agricultural activity not only generates employment and foreign trade but also satisfies a growing demand for animal protein.
