Ukraine's poultry meat exports rise, pork exports drop
Exports of Ukraine's poultry meat and offal producers rose to 271,300 tonnes in January-October this year - a 18.7% increase, according to the country's State Fiscal Service.
In monetary terms, those exports increased by 31.6%, to $425.2 million.
However, pork exports in the same period dropped 66.7% year-over-year, declining to 1,500 tonnes, and were recorded at around $3.3 million compared to $9.7 million in the nine months ending October 2017.
On the other hand, the import of pork to Ukraine in January-October increased by 5.7 times, to 23,400 tonnes. The country brought in $43.2 million worth of pork compared to $7.2 million in the same period last year.
