Another H5N8 bird flu case detected in north Germany
German authorities confirmed another H5N8 bird flu case at a poultry farm in Schweswig-Holstein state, north of Germany, Reuters reported.
The Segeberg local government authority confirmed the case, adding that all 36 chickens on the farm will be culled and poultry located in nearby farms banned from going outside.
Europe has reported multiple bird few cases in recent weeks, caused likely by migratory wild birds.
Schleswig-Holstein state reported its initial H5N8 bird flu case on November 5.
In neighbouring Netherlands, 200,000 chickens were ordered to culled after bird flu was detected on several farms, while the UK ordered 130,000 poultry to be culled at a farm northwest of England after bird flu was confirmed there.
