Brazil's pork export revenue increased 39.5 percent on-year to US$1.3 billion during the Jan-Oct period, according to the Brazilian Pork Packaging and Export Association (ABIPECS).
Pork export volumes fell 3.9 percent on-year to 470,869 tonnes during the period. The average pork price in Jan-Oct rose 45.15 percent on-year to US$3,079 per tonne.
Russia was the largest importer of Brazilian pork, accounting for 51 percent or US$676.4 million of the total pork export revenue.
Hong Kong was second at 15.6 percent or US$207 million, followed by Ukraine at 9.85 percent or US$130.58 million.
In October, pork exports fell only 6.65 percent on-year in volume despite the global financial crisis. However, revenue during the month rose 51.7 percent on-year.
