LSD detected among cattle in eastern Libya

The Department of Livestock in the city of Al-Bayda, situated in the eastern part of the Libya, has officially detected the presence of lumpy skin disease among cattle, The Libya Observer reported.
The Director of the Livestock Department in Al-Bayda highlighted the potential risks associated with these diseases, emphasising the likelihood of causing poisoning in some citizens.
In response to the outbreak, the department has advised implementing preventive measures to safeguard public health. This includes placing the affected cattle in quarantine for a minimum period of two weeks. This measure aims to contain the spread of the disease.
