COVID-19 restrictions on meat processors in Victoria, Australia, lifted
The Australian Meat Industry Council has welcomed the lifting of workforce level restrictions on abattoirs and meat processors in the Australian state of Victoria.
The move affects metropolitan and regional abattoirs and meat processing businesses, including poultry and seafood plants.
All other personal protection, workplace and surveillance testing requirements remain, the state government of Victoria said on November 7.
The dropping of workforce restrictions ends the requirement for metropolitan and regional abattoirs and meat processing plants to reduce their workforces by 20% or 25 workers, whichever was higher.
Victoria recorded no new COVID-19 cases since November 8, with the total number of cases now at 20,345.
