Lallemand Animal Nutrition announces second annual scholarship recipients

Lallemand Animal Nutrition has recently announced the 2016 Lallemand Forward Scholarship recipients in North America.

After reviewing more than 150 scholarship applications, the scholarship committee selected five exceptional students pursuing degrees in agriculture.

- Yan Sun is the recipient of the PhD scholarship, receiving US$3,000. Sun is currently working on her PhD at Michigan State University, with research focusing on the effects of dietary factors and ruminal pH on rumen biohydrogenation pathways and the risk of milk fat depression.

- Stephanie Coombes is the recipient of the Master's scholarship and she will also receive US$3,000. Coombes is currently working on her Master's at Kansas State University, studying Communications and Agricultural Education, focusing on the discursive features of advocates for animal agriculture.

The three undergraduate scholarship recipients, who will each receive US$2,500, are as follows: Cole Hamilton (agronomy-plant science), Western Kentucky University; Andrew Klein (agriculture education), University of Illinois; and Conor McCabe (animal science with a focus on dairy cattle), Cornell University.

"Lallemand is happy to support these exceptional students as they pursue their studies," said Jeff Ast, commercial director of Lallemand Animal Nutrition North America. "Our team was impressed with the number and quality of students advancing the future of agriculture."

The Lallemand Forward Scholarship recognises students at the PhD, Master's and undergraduate levels who are excelling in their agricultural programmes. It is part of Lallemand Forward programme to promote education.
