Marfrig appoints new CEO

Mafrig announces the appointment of Sérgio Rial as its CEO of the Seara Foods Business Division.

It also established the Executive Committee, a Chief Executive Officer's Committee composed only of Marfrig executive officers, which will act as an advisory group to the CEO of Marfrig primarily with regard to financial and strategic company management, relations with financial institutions and ratings agencies, general management support, budget preparation and control. Mr. Rial will chair the Executive Committee.

Mr. Rial has extensive professional experience amassed over the years in executive positions in Brazil, the US, and in Europe and Asia, is knowledgeable of the food industry and agricultural commodities.

Mr. Rial served until recently as Executive Vice President and global Chief Financial Officer of Cargill, and was a member of the Cargill Board of Directors since 2010. He left Cargill after nine years with the group.
