US corn harvest at 81%, soybean harvest at 91%

The latest weekly crop progress report from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reveals that US farmers have completed the harvest of 81% of their corn acreage and 91% of the soybean crop, ICIS reported.
While the pace of the corn harvest is slightly trailing the 2022 level of 85%, it remains ahead of the five-year average of 77%. North Carolina is leading the way with 98% of their acreage completed, followed by Tennessee at 96%.
Soybean farmers have made significant progress, with 91% of the crop now harvested. This figure is slightly below the 93% achieved in 2022 but is ahead of the five-year average of 86%. Louisiana has already completed their soybean harvest, and Mississippi is close behind at 98%.
Due to ongoing harvest activities in several states and changes in weather, the domestic fertiliser market has seen reduced levels of activity.
