ASF hits Polish voivodeship that was previously unaffected by disease

African swine fever (ASF) has been detected in a voivodeship in Poland, where the disease had not been diagnosed this year.

During the second half of October, Poland reported five new ASF outbreaks.

These outbreaks occurred on small and backyard farms in the voivodeships of Lesser Poland (one outbreak), Warmia-Masuria (one outbreak), and Świętokrzyskie (three outbreaks).

ASF was previously not detected in Świętokrzyskie this year.
