China Broiler Weekly: AA broiler market ends price slide with strong rebound (week ended Oct 31, 2017)

AA broiler

AA broiler prices rebounded by a whopping 10% during the period in review as supplies tightened substantially. Chick prices surged tremendously by RMB0.80-1/chick to RMB1.65-1.80/chick as farmers were encouraged to expand inventories.

China breed broiler

Gaining for the fourth consecutive month, prices of China breed broiler increased at a more modest pace of 3%. Accumulatively, prices have increased 8% since early October.

Price of native day-old chicks slid, however, as farmers were not keen to maintain high inventories during winter.
 

Market forecast

Prices of AA broiler and chick are likely to consolidate lower following the recent week’s strong rebound. Nevertheless, with supplies of finishing broiler limited, AA broiler market should stay firm in the longer term.

Native broiler markets are expected to remain stable.
