Australian beef exports to Taiwan ease

Australian beef exports to Taiwan increased by 6 percent last month from September while dropping 14 percent from October 2005.

The country's total beef exports to the market over the calendar year to October fell 6 percent compared with the same period last year.

Chilled beef shipments to Taiwan over the first 10 months of the year eased by 38 percent and accounted for just 6 percent of total Australian exports compared with 9 percent over the same period in 2005.

Exports to Taiwan over the next few months could remain subdued owing to increasing demand for Australian beef from other lucrative markets.
